Backyard Hummers is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com and affiliated sites. As an Amazon Associate, we earn from qualifying purchases.

What that means for you

When you click a product link on this site and buy something within Amazon's tracking window, Amazon may pay us a percentage of the sale as an advertising fee. That fee comes out of the seller's margin. You never pay more because you used our link.

Affiliate links appear inline in the text, in comparison tables, and in product cards. Each one opens in a new tab and carries rel="sponsored nofollow noopener", and inline links are marked AD so you can see what they are before you click. A disclosure also runs at the top of every page, above any affiliate link.

How recommendations are chosen

Recommendations are made independently of commission rate. We do not rank by what pays more, and we do not accept payment, free product, or trips in exchange for placement.

What we weigh:

• Fit for the specific use case the article is about — species, feeder size, climate
• Materials, build quality, and how easy the thing is to clean
• Durability, from our own use where we have it and from long-run owner reports where we don't
• Whether it is actually in stock and shipping in the United States

Where we have not used a product ourselves, we say so and treat it as a research-based recommendation rather than a tested one.

Prices and availability

We do not display live prices. Amazon's price, seller, and shipping terms change constantly, so any figure mentioned in text is approximate and may be out of date by the time you read it. Prices and availability are accurate as of the date indicated and are subject to change — the price shown on Amazon at the time of purchase is the one that applies.

Other affiliate programs

At this time we participate only in the Amazon Associates Program (US). If that changes, we will update this page and disclose it inline on the articles that use it.

No sponsored content

We do not run sponsored posts, paid reviews, or brand-supplied content. If that ever changes, sponsored content will be labelled at the top of the article, and nothing carrying sponsorship will appear in a "best of" roundup for its own category.
